About me

The designer

My educational background was initially in Industrial Design and Product Development Engineering. However, after pursuing a master’s degree in User Experience, I quickly fell in love with human-centered design. I now have 4+ years of experience working in UX Research and Design applied to finance, B2B solutions, employee experience, hospitality, and many other fields. I have seen and learned a great deal from the talented array of seniors I’ve had the pleasure of working alongside. I am grateful for their lessons in both technical knowledge and stakeholder management.

As a naturally curious person, asking questions and getting to the root of problems is a genuine love of mine. This natural curiosity bleeds into my work practice in the form of rigorous research and interactive peer-to-peer conversations. These are the cornerstones of my career as a human-centered designer.

The person

I am originally from Bilbao, Spain. A historically industrial city that has gained new prominence as a top destination for design and technology. Growing up in the wake of this recent technological rebirth has molded and directed my interests as a professional and shaped me into the positively driven woman I am today.

Apart from my youth, I have spent much of my early adulthood in the UK. Arriving in a country with no connections and building a place for myself there has taught me invaluable lessons about independence, responsibility, and curiosity.

Recent interests

Behavioural science and behaviour interventions have always intrigued me, and understanding why and how we behave fascinates me. That’s why I have recently started to incorporate this field into my self-directed learning plan.

One of the most interesting points about what I´ve been learning is that the adoption of solutions oftentimes fails because we´re designing for future behaviour and forget to leverage current user default actions.

Even though changing behaviour at a certain scale is possible. For example, we could use the COM-B model to explore which items we have control over and how those can modify the actions of the users.
